ABSTRACT:

In the information era, great inventions and breakthroughs in artificial intelligence have impacted every part of our lives, including education. Artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to improve teaching and learning processes and address various challenges in distance learning. Given the abundance of information and the ability of advancements in AI to create models, we must think about how to successfully integrate AI into education generally and distance education specifically. With AI’s rapid evolution, many distance learning institutions are exploring how to support their students effectively. In this specific paper, an attempt is made to present the benefits and disadvantages resulting from the effect of artificial intelligence on conventional education. Next, the elements that characterize the disunity of distance education are presented so that the impact of applying artificial intelligence to the above education model becomes clear. Then, the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence in distance education are presented. The work results from bibliographic research and the study of the data as they emerged from it. The future of distance education looks bright, with many potential benefits for both students and institutions. Virtual and augmented reality technologies will likely revolutionise distance education learning, providing students with immersive, interactive learning environments. However, to maintain the quality of education, institutions must develop new methods that facilitate interaction and collaboration between students and instructors. With the right approach, distance education has the potential to provide students with a high-quality education that is accessible and flexible.
