The Importance and Intersection of Social Sciences and Humanities in Understanding Human Societies

Venerable. Shanti Priyo Chakma

ABSTRACT:

Social science and humanities are essential branches of knowledge that explore and analyse human behaviour, societies, cultures, and the intricate workings of our world. Social science and humanities are two broad academic disciplines that study human society, behaviour, culture, and relationships. Social science encompasses fields such as sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, political science, and geography, focusing on understanding human behaviour and social structures. It aims to analyse and explain various aspects of society, such as social interactions, institutions, and cultural norms. Social science and humanities play crucial roles in helping us understand ourselves, our history, and the world around us. They contribute to shaping our cultural identity, promoting critical thinking, fostering empathy, and addressing complex social issues. By studying these disciplines, we gain insights into human behaviour, societal structures, and cultural diversity, ultimately enriching our lives and broadening our perspectives.
