How Learner’s Goals Affect Learning Strategy – A Longitudinal Study Among Undergraduate Students

Oz Guterman, Efrat Gill

ABSTRACT:

Academic achievements are the basis for success in most modern countries in the Western world. Thus, many studies have been conducted examining differences between students in learning strategies. The present study examined these strategies among 174 undergraduate students in the social sciences and also examined the learning goals of the students. The study found that students with different learning goals had different strategies. These findings may connect areas of research that have so far been examined separately despite the mutual impact they may have.
