ABSTRACT:
This study delves into the intricate tapestry of violations against LGBTQI+ individuals in Bangladesh throughout 2023. Employing an exhaustive examination of various newspapers, it unveils recurring patterns and prevailing trends. Utilizing a qualitative content analysis approach, instances of discrimination, harassment, and violence, reported both nationally and locally, are meticulously categorized. The analysis scrutinizes key factors, including the nature of the violations, the demographic profile of victims, geographical distribution, and potential patterns in perpetrators’ identities. This comprehensive approach seeks to provide a profound understanding of the challenges encountered by the LGBTQI+ community. By synthesizing information from diverse media sources, the research contributes nuanced insights into societal attitudes, systemic issues, and areas necessitating targeted intervention. Furthermore, the analysis delves into the pivotal role of journalism in shaping public perceptions and fostering awareness regarding LGBTQI+ rights.
