Tackling Multidimensional Poverty: A Comparative Analysis of Socio-Economic Indicators in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Jordan
Laura Noeir
ABSTRACT:
This research aims to conduct a thorough comparative examination of multidimensional poverty prevalent across Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Jordan, from 2017 to 2022. Exploring crucial socio-economic indicators, particularly the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), the study provides a comprehensive view of poverty, considering factors such as health, education, and standard of living. By combining these diverse indicators, the research aims to offer valuable insights into the complex nature of poverty within each nation. Furthermore, it seeks to highlight the effectiveness of poverty reduction efforts and their impact on GDP per capita. Using rigorous regression analysis techniques, the study analyses the evolving trends observed in MPI components and GDP per capita over the specified timeframe. Significant findings emerge, suggesting substantial progress in addressing multidimensional poverty across the studied countries. These findings have important implications for shaping policy formulation and advancing the sustainable development goals (SDGs) outlined by the international community. Ultimately, the overarching goal of this research is to provide policymakers and stakeholders with evidence-based insights, promoting informed decision-making processes aimed at fostering sustainable development and enhancing the well-being of the people in these nations.
