Key Aspects to Design Teachers Training In the Educational Use of Artificial Intelligence

ABSTRACT:

The development of continuing professional development activities for teachers is key to educational quality, as determined by several studies conducted by international organizations such as the OECD and UNESCO, as well as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. However, this does not seem to be the priority in a world facing the post-pandemic consequences in addition to an economic crisis that seems to be increasing, to the detriment of the investment made in education. Meanwhile, unprecedented technological development and an accelerated inclusion of Artificial Intelligence in the education sector poses many challenges for teaching staff in General Education and Higher Education. This article makes recommendations for the design of training activities in the educational use that can be given to Artificial Intelligence focused on skills development and an overturn that this implies for teachers regarding the design of the learning experiences they implement in their classes.
