Privacy Policy
The European Journal of Teaching and Education (EJTE) is published by the Diamond Scientific Publishing and, as such, is governed and bound by its policy and standards of quality requirements, including its privacy policies outlined below.
- Site visitors need to give EJTE explicit permission to collect personal data in order for EJTE to do so;
- Users information is not shared with or sold to third parties and stored securely on safe servers;
- Users have the right to request their information to be deleted, which EJTE must comply with
As users utilize the various services of EJTE, personal information, including but not limited to the email address, phone number, name, address, credit card number, Internet Protocol (IP) address may be requested in order to allow for the delivery of the requested services. Once the information is provided by users, it may be used to grant access to services, fulfill orders, answer inquiries, recommend relevant content, send surveys, notify users of upcoming promotional campaigns and/or products/services, and other relevant actions.
Users reserve the right to opt out of electronic communication through the ‘unsubscribe’ function.
Users' information will only be disclosed in the event that it is required by law or if EJTE believes that such disclosure is necessary to adhere to legal requirements or ensure compliance with legal processes, protect the rights or property of Diamond Scientific Publishing or its personnel.
Should a user update their personal information on EJTE, the updated information may be disseminated throughout the Diamond Scientific Publishing database.
The above-stipulated rules apply to EJTE website and its related sites, such as its Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages.
Online Advertising and Website Analytics. EJTE uses third parties to display advertisements and collect and analyze data. Advertisements use persistent cookies (see definition below) to track users' activities and aggregate their information. The persistent cookies utilized by EJTE do not collect or store personally identifiable information. Users that opt out of having their information collected, may still have non-identifiable information collected anonymously in aggregate in order to allow for the placement of advertisements on the website and website analysis for internal purposes (e.g. estimating the traffic size to the website, the average duration of page visits, etc.).
Cookies. Cookies are saved on a users’ computer or server in order to collect users’ relevant information and setting preferences. They are used to improve user experience and provide a website owner with data on user behavior.
Session cookies are temporary files. They are triggered by certain behaviors that require personalized actions, such as making a purchase. They ensure a continuity of experience. Once a browser is closed or a user logs out of their account, these cookies are automatically deleted. Session cookies are removed when a user logs off or when the browser is closed.
Persistent cookies, on the other hand, are permanent files. Users can delete them via their browser settings. EJTE uses persistent cookies in a range of scenarios, including:
- A user’s request to save the log-in info;
- For advertising purposes to manage the type and frequency of advertisements displayed to a user;
- For survey or poll purposes to prevent multiple entries from the same user;
- To store users’ preference settings;
- To store shopping cart items
EJTE does not use persistent cookies to store personally identifiable information outside of the user name and password. Session cookies are used for web analytics purposes to evaluate such data as website traffic, average page views, etc., where non-identifiable data is aggregated.
Users have the right to opt out of any data collection and storage. They have the right to learn what specific information is collected by EJTE and request its update or removal.
Credit Card Information. EJTE guarantees the security of credit card information. Each financial transaction is performed utilizing secure encrypted systems. Access to credit card information is provided to a limited number of authorized personnel, and can only be used with a user’s agreement in such instances as a refund or data update.
Email Privacy. EJTE advises against sending confidential information via email using the website. The security of such emails cannot be guaranteed by EJTE. By sending a message via the website a user acknowledges that the content of their email may be accessed by third parties.
Users have the right to opt out of any email communication.
User-Generated Content. By submitting personal data or identifiable information in the form of user-generated content (e.g. including your phone number in the ‘Comments’ section of the website or posting your education history on EJTE’s Facebook page), you acknowledge our right to make it public. Such data may be used by EJTE and Diamond Scientific Publishing.
Policy Revisions and Application. EJTE and Diamond Scientific Publishing reserve the right to update its privacy policy as they see fit at any time, for any reason. Users can track such changes by checking the last revision date, which will be posted publicly. The policy outlined in this section is only applicable to the information that’s collected by EJTE, Dimond Scientific Publication, or third parties that may be hired on the behalf of EJTE or Diamond Scientific Publishing to provide certain services or fulfill orders.
Limitation of Liability. EJTE, Diamond Scientific Publishing, its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, subcontractors, and agents are not liable for any direct or indirect damages that result from the information contained on or transmitted through this website, including, but not limited to, any damages to equipment or software.
