Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy on emotion regulation and Cognitive Processing in patients with MDD. For this purpose, 30 patients with major depressive disorder in Sanandaj city were selected by convenience sampling method and replaced in two 15-subject groups. At first, both groups responded to emotional regulation and cognitive processing questionnaires. Then, for the experimental group, 8 sessions of the cognitive behavioral therapy program were implemented in a group manner, but no intervention was performed for the control group. After the intervention, the data of emotional regulation and cognitive processing questionnaires were analyzed from the patients in two groups in the pretest and posttest phases using the ANOVA test. The findings showed that a cognitive-behavioral therapy program has a significant effect on improving emotional regulation and cognitive processing of patients with major depressive disorder.
