A Study on the Humanity Education of University Students Using Big Data Analysis

ABSTRACT:
Humanity Education in Korea began in 1995 with the reform of education, and it was highlighted as the official educational policy in 2009 with ‘creativity and personality education’. Especially, as the issue of normalization of school education has emerged, the importance of Humanity Education is emphasized as the core competence of future human resources development. Furthermore, the demand for education for universal growth and community personality of college students, the protagonists of future society, is continuously increasing worldwide (Lee & Cho, 2016). The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual condition of humanity education of university students and to suggest the direction of humanity education of university students. As a result, this study provides basic data of the university education program of humanity education.In order to accomplish the goal of this study, we collected data for 10 years (2009.04 ~ 2019.04) from News,Internet Cafe, Portal Site and Blog. And we analyzed the humanity education of university students using big data analysis method. Analysis and visualization of data uses NodeXL. NodeXL is a social network analysis tool developed to collect, analyze and visualize various kinds of network data (Q-NodeXL Korea, 2015). The research problems of this study are as follows.
1) What is the status of humanity education of university students collected from News, Internet Cafes, Portal Site,
blog for 10 years?
2) What are the characteristics of humanity education of university students collected from News, Internet Cafes,
Portal Site, blog for 10 years?
Through the analysis of this study, we analyzed the change and trend of humanity education in terms of micro and macro perspective. And the future direction of humanity education for university students. Based on the findings of this study, we proposed various humanity education curriculum development and operation plan.
