Dr. Ayesha Mubarak Alketbi
ABSTRACT:
This research aims to explain the importance of caring for the elderly and their rights, as the aging stage is a natural stage of human life, and it is a stage that calls for attention, care, and preservation of rights. And career and transformations in the relationship of this person with his surroundings. Therefore, preserving the rights of the elderly is a duty of all members of society. It is the right of the elderly to respect him, meet his material needs, and provide him with health care, and it is his right to live with his children and grandchildren, and it is the right of the elderly not to prevent him from working in the jobs and professions that he can perform. It is the right of the elderly not to be harmed in the event of armed conflict.
One of the most important results is that preserving and caring for the elderly is the duty of their families in the first stage; Because families provide them with many spiritual needs that nursing homes are unable to provide; And because this is one of the requirements of the family’s respect for the elderly in it. Second, all those caring for the elderly should consider their spiritual and material needs. Third, the elderly has the full right to spend their money how they like, and the law protects that. Fourth, modern families have begun to exercise independence without imposing adults on them, allowing many elderly people to live alone.
