ABSTRACT:

The Internet, social networks, chat platforms, and other services have become part of our everyday lives. Not only do the pupils establish new friendships and maintain the existing ones online, but at the same time, they share and collect information about each other and develop their digital identities. The issue of protecting the privacy and personal data of pupils in the online environment has been an increasingly discussed topic due to its topicality and importance not only in connection with the school environment.
The paper deals with selected risky phenomena in the online environment that students may encounter due to sharing their private information and personal data.
An introductory survey on this issue was carried out among secondary school pupils through a quantitative research design, focusing on pupils` opinions and experiences with risky phenomena in the online environment in the context of sharing private information and personal data.
