ABSTRACT:

In the 21st century, the role of educational leaders in the changing landscape of education is crucial. The emergence of Generation Alpha, born in the 2010s and raised in a technology-driven world, has created a new breed of learners. These children are comfortable with smartphones, tablets, and other electronic gadgets from a very young age, granting them extraordinary access to world at large. The evolving educational environment presents challenges for 21st century leaders who must incorporate new dimensions, strategies, and trends into the education system. In many developing countries, the divide between leaders in public and private sector institutes is apparent, highlighting the importance of educational leaders who can adapt to changing trends and innovations. Bringing about change in the education system is not easy, as people tend to resist it due to their attachment to traditional ideas and practices. However, the rapid development of technology and the increasing use of information technology in education demand that educational leaders understand and implement these advancements effectively. The integration of technology into the curriculum and teaching-learning processes poses a challenge for leaders. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic further accelerated the need for educational leaders to navigate online learning and adapt to remote education. The pandemic forced leaders to make swift decisions and shift educational activities online, which presented challenges for stakeholders accustomed to traditional methods of education. The ability of leaders to swiftly transition to online learning and support teachers and students in this new environment became essential. 21st century learners are a new breed, shaped by technology and the rapidly changing educational landscape. Educational leaders must be capable of implementing change, leveraging technology, and adapting to new paradigms. The role of educational leaders in fostering growth, ensuring institutional development, and providing quality education has become increasingly critical in the 21st century.
