Adopting AI in Education: Benefits, Challenges and Tools

ABSTRACT:
Artificial Intelligence is one of the key technologies of the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), which is gradually used in more and more numerous activities concerning educational purposes. In this paper, we examine the numerous benefits of adopting AI technology in education as well as cite examples of existing platforms and software. AI educational systems could become helpful assistants for the teachers by simplifying administrative tasks, improving course quality techniques, and monitoring the students’ progress. Moreover, they could operate as personal tutors to the students by using adaptive learning. However, there are some challenges, that we still need to overcome. These include an inclusive and equitable policy, the preparation of teachers for the new era, the sustainable development of these systems, the cost of this technology and the transparency of personal data used by AI systems.
