The Impact of Digitalization on Peoples Planned Behavior
Shabnam Tahiri
ABSTRACT:
The last 10 years have experienced the most recent technological transformation with the be- ginning of the 4th Industrial revolution and the digitalization era. The transformation of the economy in the 21st century shows a rapid transition from a traditional industrial production model to a new, digital- and information driven society which has led to changes in the way companies work with their customers and users. Although there is today a tremendous amount of research on digitization and the theory of planned behaviour, there is surprisingly limited knowledge about the combination of these two research areas. At the present time, in the middle of a global pandemic, people are forced to digitalize themselves and their organizations as quickly as possible and adopt to technological challenges. This is exactly the kind of constel- lation which makes the use of the theory of planned behaviour lens appropriate to explore the changing behaviours of humans. The aim of this study is to compile the current knowledge about digital transformation in combination with the theory of planned behaviour and to derive future research avenues based on the findings from the literature review.
