Research Productivity on Women Empowerment from 2018 to 2022: A Quantitative Analysis

ABSTRACT: 

This paper analyses the research output on Women Empowerment (WE) from 2018 to 2022 using some bibliometrics techniques on the data which is derived from the largest indexing and abstracting database named Scopus. The paper demonstrates the total research output; year wise distribution of research output; top five sources; most prolific author, country, language etc. on Women Empowerment.

The study identified that 6559 research papers published in 2018-2022 on Women Empowerment. This study found that the most preferred document form is article with 5073 (77.34 %) publications followed by book chapters with 649 (9.89%) publications.The most productive year is 2022 with 2958 (45.09%) publications followed by 2018 with 2043 (31.15%) publications on Women Empowerment. The study found that in terms of number of publications among top five authors, Yaya, S.  is most productive author with 25 publications on Women Empowerment followed by Yount,K. M. with 24 publications. Plos One (103) is observed as top preferred sources of publications on Women Empowerment. In the country wise contribution, it is observed that USA produced highest 1688 (25.73%) articles followed by UK with 731 (11.14%) and India  with 720 (10.97 %) articles. In the language wise contribution, the study found that the maximum articles published in English language with 6305 (96.12%) articles followed by Spanish language with 123 (1.87%) publications on Women Empowerment.
