Blockchain Technology for the Early Education Sector. Challenges and opportunities

ABSTRACT: 

Blockchain is a novel technology that is continuously evolving and being applied in various domains. Still, little has been researched about the application of this technology in education, specifically, early childhood education. The advantages of blockchain technology in early childhood education range from data management, data authentication, protection, accreditation, credentialing, and much more, as we will see in this presentation. We may have heard of the use of such technologies to verify digital credentials issued by training providers, but in this presentation, we will explore how blockchain technology can be used to solve some of the challenges faced by the early childhood sector as a whole, including protecting young children from pedophiles using blockchain, protecting and sharing child-sensitive information, credentialing professionals working with children, managing waitlists, and family registration in childcare programs, and much more. Some innovative applications of using blockchain technology are being proposed, and the benefits and challenges of using blockchain technology for education are also discussed.
