Embedding Knowledge Management to Support Open Government

ABSTRACT:
Knowledge Management supports the access to information as one of the most important elements of the open government. The study is a qualitative research to explore the measures to which the right to access information was applied in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The study demonstrates the principles of the right of access to public information, which is the core of the laws for the disclosure of public information in many countries. The study concludes that the Egyptian government has an acceptable level of disclosure of public information, yet the legislative framework still required to legalize the openness of information. The study recommends set of objectives to support the knowledge management process to regulate effectively the access to public information.
