Be a Teacher in Pandemic: Transnational Analysis

ABSTRACT: 

The pandemic situation has touched all social structures. In addition to the socio-health sphere, the education system has suffered the effect of the pandemic, having to reform itself in temps of urgency. In addition to the socio-health sphere, the education system has suffered the effect of the pandemic, having to reform itself in times of urgency. No one was ready for an upheaval of this magnitude, and consequently, the teaching staff had to arm themselves with psychosocial knowledge to cope with the demands from the students. They had to educate in record time to cope with the steps of the face-to-face didactic mode to the distance didactic mode.   In addition to the pandemic situation that required greater attention to health, the confusion created at the policy levels aggravated the situation. The paper aims to analyse the effect of the pandemic situation on teachers’ professions in different countries.  The used methodology was divided into different steps. On one side, the analysis of data on Education Institution’s closure: period and for how long, another approach was the analysis of the decisional process on the organization of education in the pandemic period. The results demonstrate how the pandemic has been addressed in different countries, how the decisions taken have affected the education system, and the teacher’s role.
