Engaging Teachers in Professional Development:  Course Design at Higher Education

ABSTRACT: 

This paper invites reform dialogue regarding existing approaches to design a course at higher education level. Literature suggests that an. integrated course design models is crucial to increase students ‘cognitive presence and emotional inspiration in their learning processes since the proper course design includes identification of situation factors, learning goals, teaching and learning activities and feedback and assessment in reflective manners (Fink, 2015). The paper suggests that teachers ’intellectual engagement in integrated approach to course design is key to continuing their professional development, irrespective of the format of the teaching mechanism.
