Analyzing the use of ICT to support faculties’ teaching in a Sino-foreign cooperative university: challenges, opportunities, and future trend
For facing the changing digital world, the term of high technology is widely used in different areas, especially in education. This paper aims to explore the approaches that faculty adopted in higher education and their attitudes toward ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) education. The research method applied in this research is mainly the case study, which is qualitative research. The research data are collected through interviews in a target Sino-foreign cooperative university. There have common ideas and beliefs among the teachers. The faculty uses specific online platforms to support their teaching and students’ learning. To some extent, it is effective and convenient for both teachers and students. However, there are challenges and difficulties as well. For faculties, they have to combine their onsite and online teaching. Regarding the different teaching content, the faculties need to change their teaching strategies. In addition, students need to get used to implementing the online learning platform. Though, it is more effective to combine ICT education with the traditional teaching of lecturing.
