Teachers 2.0 from doctoral student perspective. How universities should educate the new generation of teachers?
Jakub Adamczewski
ABSTRACT:
Everything is changing. We have modern technologies which we could not imagine twenty years ago. We have new schools with better equipment than ever but still the same teachers. We teach children that were born in times when the internet, mobile phones and e-books were already present in society. Are we ready to teach them in an XXI century way? How should we change our curriculum, methods and way of thinking about education? What tools should we use to inspire, encourage and motivate children to do more and better? How we can im-plement the aspects of positive education? As an academic teacher who educates future pri-mary teachers, I would love to share my research dedicated to the image of teacher 2.0. I will present the results of the study which was conducted among undergraduate students. By that, I would like to share my concern about what we are currently teaching and what should be changed and why? The speech made by a doctoral student who listens to the needs of his students as well as still working as a Primary school teacher is to finally talk about the future generation of teachers. Are we ready for that?
